5.3. Syllabus

The course, Preservation and restoration of cultural heritage, will address the following topics:

  • - The role of Art History in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
  • - Methodology for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
  • - Scientific criteria for intervention in movable and immovable property, according to the theory and history of restoration.
  • - Scientific contributions to the conservation and restoration of heritage. Scientific methods for analysis and advice in the conservation and restoration of heritage.
  • - Case studies: Aragon, Spain and Italy.
  • - The role of foundations in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
  • - Master plans as an instrument for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
  • - The preventive conservation of cultural heritage.
